Plain weave/twill variation vertical bands. Some bands are broken twill, some are probably basket weave. Warp is cotton two ply S twist and weft is rayon singles. Deep rose, salmon, copper and brownish red knubbly furnishing fabric.
Warp threads are varied, with: salmon colored pearl cotton 3 ply Z twist, deep rose rayon boucle, and brownish maroon cotton heavy singles. Weft threads are: salmon/rose wool 3 ply S twist, same in burgundy, deep rose cotton four ply S twist, and copper rayon boucle.
Pieces appear to have been used. Deep hems look like curtain hems.

Child's jacket pieced together by machine stitching using striped fabric for all but central panels flanking center-front opening. Jacket shows old label noting that it is Syrian.

Appears to be sett in 12 dent reed with natural cotton double for ten threads and three heavier sets in single.
Old label sewn to fabric is a jury label for a textile show with Berta's name and address enterd, along with notes on yarns used and "NFS" Another old identification tag shows ink inscription of a museum loan number "L 41.62.6" indicating this item was loaned to a museum in 1941....View Full Record
